So in a world of differences, is it right to discriminate because of ones religion?

Although the American Constitution includeds freedom of religion, are individulas of other religions not disriminated against in politics?

All this comes down to is the separation of church and state: something this country has seemingly forgotten about over the past presidential term and a half. Funny how that happened when the ex-majority party suddenly became such hot heads for God and Christians. You know what they thought? “Hey, people are stupid enough to take this into consideration, then we can sneak everything behind their back!”

This is why we have red states and blue states. When election time comes running through, it's never an issue of our country's problems anymore, it's all about "not being patriotic" or "running too far away from Christian influence". Where is God in Iraq? Where was God in Vietnam?

Don't get me wrong, Im a christian ! Im just appaulled at how Americans will vote based om christianity and not on what they will do "politically" for the country.

There are more simularities in religions than people think.

Note: Obama is not a muslim but when people thought that, there were so many negative comments. SOME Muslims have radical terrorist groups! You know...like how the KKK are christians too!

Political leaders can be religious.
Religious leaders should not be political.

Whenever a religion has its religious leaders as the government or has too much influence in the government, we get:

The Crusades
The Inquisition
The Taliban in Afghanistan
Hezbollah in Lebanon
etc.

This seems like a whole lot of rambling. Try to stay focused on one topic so that we can follow.

"Is it right to discriminate because of one's religion?"

No, it isn't right. In the U.S., it is unconstitutional. Are you aware of anyone who has suffered that discrimination? If so, call the ACLU. This is something that they are good at helping with.

"Are individuals of other religions not discriminated against in politics?"

So far as I can see, yes, they are not discriminated against. This country even elected a Muslim to Congress who put his hand on the Koran instead of the Bible to swear his oath of office -- which is fine by me. Some people rasied a ruckus about that, but the guy did it anyway.

"All this comes down to is the separation of church and state: something this country has seemingly forgotten about over the past presidential term and a half."

There are lots of us who are still wondering what in the heck that expression even means. And I have no idea at all why on earth you think that Bush is the only President this country's has ever had who doesn't respect the "separation" ..... whatever the heck it means. Is this just another lame attempt at Bush-bashing?

And then you go rambling into an incomprehensible discussion about God in Iraq and God in Vietnam.

If a politician has religious beliefs, they will carry over into his professional/political life. As long as the government consists of people, there will never be total separation - it's not possible to separate a person's beliefs from them doing their job. And I don't think it's that people of different religions are discriminated against. It's more that we tend to vote for people who we feel comfortable with, who have similar values to us. So Christians tend to vote for Christians, Muslims for Muslims, atheists for atheists.

I am a Christian and I believe God should be in everything! If you pray about things God will direct you in the way you should go. I know I will get a lot of thumbs down on this. But I think Christians have set back long enough and let a lot of things happen and not standing up for what they believe in!!

Just my opinion!!!!

Wrong!!!

THEY HAVE TO BE MIXED AND HELD UP TO SCRUTINY AND ANALYZED IN THE LIGHT OF SOME BASE LINE OF MORALITY AND ETHICS! Not situational ethics or relativism but a base line morality!

As for the Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Godless Liberals ... it is the absolute obligation of every sensitive God fearing American to call them to task!

The United States of America is a CHRISTIAN nation founded on Christian principals NOT "Judeo" Christian but "Christian values".

Separation of Church and State was created to prevent the establishment of a State religion i.e. Church of England NOT what the Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Hyper Liberal Democrats
would have you believe.

The abominations of the Liberal Left range from allowing 13 year olds to have abortions without notifying parents to no spanking laws all based on the Godless San Francisco Gay-Lesbian Lobby redefining nature itself. i.e. Marriage is o.k. women with women and male with male ... and such was the destruction of many a great nation when they abandoned the ethics and values deemed universal by nature itself.

But ... the Liberals have even tried to put a dignified face on the plague HIV-AIDS and would have the world believe it never was a disease having it's origins in ANAL INTERCOURSE between Homosexuals males and now we here the feeble justifications that Heterosexuals even get Aids! UGH, sure after Bisexuals go home and contaminate their innocent mates !!!

Right is Wrong and Wrong is Right...NAMBLA is protected by the ACLU and worse!

Wake up America !!!
