Totally normal. I don't think twice when I find out someone is gay, just like I don't think they think twice to know I'm straight.

Well, being gay, I guess I am a little biased. However, if I was straight I would like to think that I would feel the same way. I really don't understand how anyone could think that there is anything wrong with being gay. I mean, it's completely normal. Scientists are proving that and there are many animals that have been identified as homosexual. Whether people want to believe it or not, we are just as normal as heterosexuals. That is a fact. In my opinion, bigotry towards homosexuals had no merit today. We have too many facts and information to support homosexuality as normal, that it is simply ridiculous for people to still be disapproving.

I find that most of the people I meet in my daily life are quite accepting of my partner and myself. I don't think it's easy to get a fair taste of the feelings against the gay community by the answers in this forum, because people find it really easy to say mean things and act tough and big when they aren't face to face with someone. Most of the people on this thing who make the rude postings about gays would be too scared to speak up if you met with them.
Think about it this way... even though they aren't particularly accurate portayels of MY gay community, you wouldn't have even seen shows like Will & Grace, the L Word, and Queer as Folk when I was a kid. The closest we had was a cable show called "Brothers" in which one of the three brothers was gay, but it was always played for the joke.
Gay marriage wouldn't have even been on the agenda back then. So we are still growing. There probably will always be ignorant small minded people... I mean, there are still people whp are ignorant enough to discriminate based on skin color and that fight has been going on forever.

Sorry, but I don't have that kind of yardstick. I have absolutely no way at all to measure what is "general people's opinions towards gays." The only thing I can say is that I agree with you that it is better today than it was 20 years.

When the Bible says "don't judge", it means don't just write a person off because of whatever reason. But, God also gave us a brain with judgment ability to serve as our behavioral and moral compass. The Bible clearly says also: (paraphrasing) "don't lie w/ a man as a man lies w/ a woman--the Lord God says this is detestable"--pretty clear to me. I don't hate anyone, and it is not out of ignorance that I say this, but someone having an attraction to some people of the same gender is in my mind, a weakness that must be dealt with just as my own alcohol problem is a weakness, i.e., I am predisposed to it.....I must avoid it. Yes, some find that laughable, but if you believe, then you can't just believe the parts that appeal to you. We are all flawed and none are perfect, but we need to try not to twist Scripture ....
to suit ourselves..Best wishes to everyone on this forum...

There are as many different opinions as there are different people. I think it's becoming a bit easier for the non-hating people to voice their ideas. The bigots have ruled for so long, and it will take a lot more time for open-minded folks to out-voice them.

I think gays are just folks - like anybody else. They should have the same rights and respect. I don't, however, think that is the general feeling in our country. Time will continue to improve things.

i will in uncomplicated words imagine that it comes from a failure to understand why, or likely how, a gay individual isn't in touch in individuals of the option sex. They anticipate that a gay guy isn't in touch in women human beings (like they imagine he "might want to" be) because he hates women human beings, quite than for an identical reason that a instantly lady isn't in touch in women human beings. this is that "might want to" element -- they're assuming that something on your existence has made you deviate from the "default" instantly programming, quite than having had the option programming all alongside.

My opinion is gays should be allowed to live their lives the way God made them. Nobody should have to feel guilty, or unaccepted by society for being normal and not doing anything wrong. When people interact with other people, they should always treat them with respect, regardless of whether they are different or not. It's not that tough of a concept, and we all know its the right thing to do, but it's sad how few people follow it.

I have nooooooooooooooo problems with gay people, in fact some of my best friends ARE gay. My gay friends are some of the sweetest most loving people that I have had the PREVILEGE, YES ALL OF YOU YOU THAT GAY -HATERS I SAID PREVILEGE to know. I would NOT have it any other way! I just feel sorry for those out there that don't know and don't want to know somebody who IS gay as they are really missing out on a potentially great friendship.
