I assume you need to solve for the negative 4th root of 256...

First: express "256" in lowest terms...

- ^4√(4)(4)(4)(4)

Sec: since you have a set of four "4" > write "4" once outside of the radical sign & combine it with the negative sign...

= - 4

the answer is 4 because once you take the 4th root of 256 you can take it doen to the root of 4 4x4x4x4=256 4^4

does that say the 4th square root of 256..cuz that's 4..so w/ the neg sign..-4

4*4*4*4 = 256

so if you took the root of it twice, you will get 4 as your answer

4 and -4.

It got two complex roots as well, whch is prolly outside the scope of your course.
