it should take 3.7yds of gravel. multiply 4 inches by 120 inches(10ft) by 360 (30ft) and divide by 46656 which is the cubic inches in a cubic yard. that is how gravel is sold.

You need to know:
gravel comes in cubic yards, 4" = 1/3 ', and 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet (3'*3'*3').
now:
30' * 10' = 300 square feet
300sq.ft * 1/3' = 100 cubic feet
100cf / 27 = just under 4 cubic yards.

So you need to get four yards.

I'd ask the guy who is gonna haul it for you they have done it so much they know how much it will take, But be sure and use Crusher run, Don't use the washed stone as it will wash out, The Crusher run has sand and dirt in it and it will set up like concrete when you pack it down. Best of luck

Lenght x width x depth -- that will give you the square footage of gravel needed.
