Would the democrats have the will to fight and win a war with Iran?

The democrats sound so even weaker on national security than the republicans do. Do the democrats have what it takes to win a war with islamo - fascits. Give me reasons why I should trust them.

Dude, I gotta be honest with you, I don't think it really has anything to do with party alignment. One of the reasons you really wouldn't want to go into Iran is that since they have nuclear weapons, a serious threat may cause usurpation, and then those weapons would go to people we REALLY don't want to have them. You really have to work to help maintain a strong, central government that is democratically elected. Most countries understand that faced with a nuclear war, no one wins, but radical anybodys do not feel this way.

I believe that military course has a necessity, I.E. world war II when there was no other way out and we were faced with an enemy, but when it comes to restructuring nations, Iraq should be a lesson that even if we are able to remove a horrible dictator, a million other problems are going to spring up, and we frankly don't have the rapport or cultural savvy in the middle east to rebuild a nation. We can help, but the nation needs to do most of the work itself.

I don’t care who you put in power after president Bush, I’m thinking people are starting to realize that going in and kicking *** is really cool for a while and gets rid of horrible people like Saddam Hussein, but you just open up a box full of other problems if you do.

National Security is also somewhat of an interesting topic. While Republicans have in the past spent way more on military spending, I have to ask you if that actually makes you feel safer. In my opinion I’d rather have a bunch of well educated people running the country that are willing to have diplomatic relations with countries. I agree that there is a time and a place for war, but if we continue to go in guns a’blazin into the middle east, I have to say my friend that all the military spending in the world won’t make things any better.

I’m not saying the Democrats offer this, but from this past administration I’d say the Republicans don’t.

If you think we have a problem winning the hearts and minds of Iraq, believe me when I tell you Iran would be the Mother load!

Best we could hope to do without all out genocide on Shias would be to cripple Iran's military and leave them to try to rebuild!

It is not as hard as you would think! Iran is not up to full capacity in it's oil production--especially refinement! The Navy would take years to rebuild and the Missile sites are easily damaged!

The Humanitarian disaster after their Reactors are damaged and leaks will definitely draw World wide criticism, but they were told to shut them down!

Besides, Iran has had a declaration of War with the west for decades!-all is fair in Love and War!

But occupying and reconstruction by allied forces-a waste of time-we would only face worse than the garbage going on in Iraq-because Iran is the single biggest source of the problems we have in Iraq!

From a uk point of view, I dont think they will stay in Afghanistan or Iraq, as for Iran no chance.
But if they decide to leave them alone they will only get stronger.
Its really question to answer, whether it be democrat or republican.
Iran has fissile materials, if not the A bomb then they have dirty bombs + chemical weapons. NASTY
