why does everyone descriminate so much?

i have read tons of things that talk about oh mexicans this and mexicans that. why does everyone blame us for their faults? some girl on here is sayin that no one should have to learn spanish because we came here and its our faults if we dont speak english. can someone please enlighten me with the reason why mexicans are so descriminated against and why everyone thinks everything is our faults

It is the nature of humans to discriminate against what they are not, to mistrust what they are not. The American culture, in general, encourages this.

Does that make it right?

No.

Mexicans are the "flavor du jour" for bigots here on Yahoo Answers. In other places it is other races and ethnicities being slammed. I am Rromani ("Gypsy") so I get it for that. There are entire online and real life communities devoted to slamming us. Blacks get it. Asians get it. Homosexuals and bisexuals get it. Native Americans get it. Every race and ethnicity gets it, including Whites.

I really do wonder why Yahoo Answers has so much anti-Mexicanism (I know, that is not a word). It is silly to attribute all ills to ANY race or ethnicity.

If I could wave my magic wand I would either eliminate bigotry or transport all of the bigots (bigots of all races and ethnicities) to a single isolated area and let them hate to their heart's content where they cannot harm anyone.

Oh, for the record, I am one of the ones who say that Spanish should not be forced to be taught in America and that immigrants should learn the language of the land. I reference all immigrants and I believe this should apply to all nations.

It is not the immigrant's fault that they do not speak the language of the country, but I believe it is the immigrant's responsibility to learn that language.

I also support each people's right to speak their own native language without persecution.

People show their ignorance in being so narrow minded when it comes to discrimination. Usually, it is fear and insecurities that are the driving forces when people are prejudice against a group of people. To group a whole group of people into one neat little ball, is ignorant. I usually don't pay any attention to them, because they are usual not very intelligent and bore me with their ignorance. However, I have asked on more than one occasion, "what do you base your information on"? Most of them have very shallow answers, which can easily be disputed, and then they not only sound ignorant, but feel ignorant too.

I would not let white racist idiots change my mind. mexican people were here with the Native american people long before europeans set foot on this land that once belong to us. Mexican people are Natives too. If you want to speak mexican, asian language, geremen, or greek. Speak your tongue! Now there are goog white people out there and good brown people. there are times the stupid brown ones can see past their own nose. I would not let that bother me. you should not let it bother you.
