Is swallowing a fully conscious motion that just goes unnoticed during our waking hours, because it seems as easy as breathing (for people blessed with good health) though we don't swallow at night? Or do we?

People swallow twice per minute when awake and once every 5 minutes while asleep.

I think we do because if you ever observe someone who is asleep you will see that once in a while they will swallow. The swallow isn't as constant as we do when we are awake.

probably, since we obviously have saliva in our mouth being produced, since some people drool, but anyway we probably do or our mouths would overflow
