Hi, first of all congrats. I am expecting my second kid. I am 16 wks right now. I had horrible constipation around the same time you are. I drank lots of water, ate bran cereals and lots of fruit and vegetables. It really helped. Hope that works for you. Best of luck.

The best thing i can tell you is to drink more water meaning more than the usual 8 glasses maybe add two more glasses a day and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. The best is apples and greens. Spinach and collardgreens are good. Also you can take a vitamin supplement but you may want to check with your doctor. because they might say prenatal vitamins which are good. Oatmeal is also good for constipation and foods with plenty of fiber beans also are also a good source. grapes, potatoes with the skin on it preferably the red ones they can help you and juice. juice such as v8 splash and apple juice just make it a little warm they can help you. God Bless. Also dont stress too much it causes constipation. But constipation in the early weeks of pregnancy is entirely normal. Just try those.

Constipation is carefully general in the time of early being pregnant. that's a extensive nuisance inspite of the shown fact that. sturdy issues to eat as nicely a gaggle of bran that's a no-brainer, yogurt, prunes, raisins, watermelons, and clean pineapple. If that would not artwork and you do no longer decide for a week seek for advice out of your wellness practitioner. She would have a laxative to prescribe yet you could basically try this as a final hotel. sturdy success! by utilising the way the constipation could flow away extraordinarily quickly yet sorry to declare will return on the tip of being pregnant lower back.

You need to increase your fiber intake by eating fruits, veges, and whole grains. Also take a fiber supplement like Benefiber or Metamucil. Make sure you drink 8-10 glasses of water a day as well. I suffer from constipation also, and I found that a cup of coffee in the morning helps, as long as you drink water w/ it.

Oh, it sucks! When I was pregnant I got so constipated and it hurt so much that I was in tears. After feeling stupid and calling the doctor in the middle of the night I was told to take Phillips Milk of Magnesia. It worked wonders and I felt MUCH better! Good luck, I feel for ya!

Second answer is quite right! Plenty of water. The digestive system slows down in pregnancy apparently for both mum & baby to absorb optimum nutrients from food, but when it slows down TOO much it's not much fun eh?!
Eat more cereals, and veg, that helped me!
Good luck..

You need to eat more fiber and drink more water. Also try probiotics or acidopholus vitamins. Try milk with acidopholus. It helps to aid in the digestive juices that break the food down.

Perfectly normal...you need to get more fibre into your diet. MY DR had me talking metamucil every day to keep the stools soft. It comes in a pill form now...much easier to swallow. Don't strain either when havign a bowel movement.

Their are a few over the counter herbal stool softeners that you can use. Also, eating a lot of fruit really helps too. Apples specifically, they have a lot of fiber.
