Okay, to some people it might a weird question to ask, but I've heard that Greek mythology is real, and I've also heard that it's just plain nonsense...so like, give me your thoughts or opinions on this question.

Greek Mythology serves the same purpose for Hellenic Pagans as the Bible does for Christians, the Torah for Jews, the Quran for Moslems, the Vedas for Hindus etc.

If these texts are "real" then, by extension Greek Mythology is real. You will find that there are many people on both sides of the debate.

The things that the mythology inspired are certainly considered real by many people, such as theatre (which started as a way to bring the mythology to life), much of the arts of painting and music, and whether people belive it or not, the basis for modern science.

In the final analysis, you are the only one that can determine if Greek Mythology is "real" to you. Nobody will have exactly the same relationship to the universe as you.....

All godlike figures in all mythologies are based on some "real archetypes". So Zeus is only real in the sense of being the Greek version of the same universal principle that all other pantheons share. There was never a god called "Zeus" walking on Olympus, but there is a certain energetic reality which the Greeks tried to approximate by creating fanciful stories. So, if you consider the mythology on its own, no it's not real. If you analyze it for what it represents, then yes, the kernel is true. Don't know if such ambiguous answer helps any:)

Mythology Copy/paste from Webster; 1 a : a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon b : parable, allegory 2 a : a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone; especially : one embodying the ideals and institutions of a society or segment of society b : an unfounded or false notion 3 : a person or thing having only an imaginary or unverifiable existence 4 : the whole body of myths To the Greeks their gods were as real as yours are to you. To some of us Christianity is simply modern mythology. Humans have a need to create higher powers to make ourselves feel important and wanted. We need to be able to blame or credit an entity for things we do not understand and feel that by throwing some worship its way somehow we will be saved from eventuality. BTW read about the Greek gods ( Zeus in particular ) and see how the Jesus story was created.

Mythology was once Legend and Legend was once History. It's history that people have forgotten about and then tried to remember and of course some things got left out and some things got added in.
And some of the stories are just stories. I don't know which are which. But the Myths had to came from somewhere. Not every little detail of Greek Mythology is true ,or maybe it is who knows, but the base of the stories are true.

It was a belief. It couldn't be proven. Wise people grasp a situation and capitalize on it. Today they are called religious leaders. Back then the Greeks had Mythology not Religion.

I believe that the Greek Gods and Goddesses are are, I just don't personally worship them. All mythology must be taken in context of the culture it was written it, it's an allegory tale not meant to be taken literally.

It was an attempt by the Greeks to explain the mysterious Cosmos around them. The inexplicable strike of lightning on a tree, the unrelenting rains, the flood of a high tide.
It is similiar to our Christian beliefs without the miracles and Savior dying for our sins which really did happen.
