Doubel standards women want the freedom of choice, but no responsibility or accountability, like modern marriage. If it turns out she did a poor choice no problem deeevvvoorce and he pays for her the rest of his life. You find similiar doubel standards in all of todays world, like the fact that women want men to step aside in the job world so that more women can work, but do not want to support a man with the job they have, but want a man who outearns them vastly.

I actually haven't noticed it being more the guys fault...if a young girl gets pregnant, everyone says she's a slut, a whore, she ruined her life, she ruined the boys life (although in the case of young people, the guy usually gets to walk away...he has no job, can't pay child support, so it is the girl and her parents who raise the child...the guy pretty much goes on with his life, goes to college, etc. and the girl winds up working at Wal-mart). Of course, you're right, both are to blame, but that the guy gets MORE blame (I assume you mean from family, friends, the community) is NOT something I've noticed. What makes you think so anyway? Just curious.

A boy might get the blame, however the girl has to bear the disgrace. She is responsible for carrying the newborn to term. She has to head with a thank you to feed and guard the newborn. If the boy comes to a decision to deny the newborn the load of evidence is on the girl; if she would be in a position of discover him! So, if no person is going "boo hoo" for the boy, that's probable why.

It IS both their fault! But no, condoms are not 100% effective, don't know where you got that. They're, at most, 95%-98%, but nothing's 100% effective. except the classic answer, abstinence. LOL But back to your question, I think both should be blamed, because unless it was rape, it was consensual, and therefore it's assumed that both people knew the risk, and decided to take it anyways. Shame on both of them. LOL

I happen to think it's the girl's fault. SHE is the one who gets pregnant, so SHE is the one who should take the precautions. I think it's ridiculous to blame the guy.

On the other hand, there's the case where the girl lies and tells the guy she's on birth control so he doesn't use a condom (the guy's fault for being gullible)...either way, I think it's up to the girl to either BE on birth control, and/or DEMAND that the guy wear a condom..."No glove...no love" is my creedo.

The proper name is vagina. Women are blamed as much as men for unwanted pregancy, however the burdon is on the women to carry that child in her womb for the duration of the pregnancy, perhaps give up school, her freedom, childhood, dreams. Support this child sometimes singlehandlly for the next twenty years. So yes both parties are responsible but a lot of times women pay the penalty.

"Why is it that if a guy has sex with a girl and the girl gets pregnant everyone always blame the guy?"

NOT ON YAHOO 'WOMEN'S STUDIES". Here, it's ALWAYS THE WOMAN'S FAULT (she purposefully tricked him, Doubel standards, etc., etc.,). It's one conspiracy theory after another. Hard to keep up with them all sometimes!

Oh, and Cassius: it's spelled 'D-O-U-B-L-E" . You are endlessly whining about what you perceive to be "double standards", not "Doubel standards". If you're determined to leap onto your Yahoo soapbox every chance you get then at least make an effort to spell your favourite cliches correctly. Geez!

I think the only one that blames the guy is the girl.and if she would step up to the plate and take her part in all this she would be equally responsible, also women have the option of other sorts of birth control, condoms are used for prevention of STD's and HIV, they are not good as a birth control device. So blame should not be lay ed on any one
