wow.i'm thirteen, too.i think he's awesome.i know he did trow away his life.it wasn't so intelligent to do that but...he made great music and there's no more of the grunge scene these days.he madew himself sucessful, but he shouldn't have courtney to steal his heart.she was a bad choice and will always be.the smells like teen spirit video was one of the greatest accomplishment of Nirvana though.

Yup, nothing makes me think Nirvana like... shoes. I swear he is rolling over in his grave. It's just too ironic. I can't wait until they start using Nirvana in Ford commercials. I think she needs the Scrooge McDuck dollar sign swimming pool. That should be the next big purchase. Favorite Nirvana song... hmmm... I think it may be Scentless Aprentice, maybe Aero Zeplin. A lot of good ones to choose from. I still can't get over Cobain shoes. I hadn't heard about it, it's just disturbing. I know it's too obvious, but it's just so contrary to him. It's practically a celebration of exactly what drove him over the edge (that and the heroin of course). Even though I have some recollection of him wearing converse this just grosses me out. ************* Hi Indie Ki.. I disagree. I think you can still be a black helicopter, conspiracy guy and still dig the tunes. Whatever gets you through the night, ya know? It's silly to put train of thought type restrictions on fandom. Are you a fan of the tunes? That's all you should need. ************* Nice dig SMDF. ****************** Hi Mr. Bernstein. I'd like to echo Persephone's sentiments. Sorry I never got back to you on your e-mail. Sorry the job transition sounds like it's sucking. Hope everything is going good man.

Kurt and Cortney met at a show at the Metro in Chicago, they used to play there a lot when they were inbetween being famous and just a popular band with the indie crowd. She was the big push to become famous. She really wanted to date a famous rock star and make him big. She pushed him to do things that maybe he shouldn't have done. But I think they loved each other and no I don't think she had him killed. Why do you want to be like him? I think he was a very unhappy person.

don't know about his hair. He was a natural blonde, did he dye it lighter or another color?

I don't think he killed himself. I think he was murdered.

I loved his music, miss his voice so much, and thought he was a tortured soul with more to say, I miss him all the time. too soon, too late. (that's from a song by Neil Young called Sleeps with Angels)

HAHA, O SHI- yet another 13 year old that worships Kurt Cobain because it's cool...ohh man XD

Anyways http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_cobain Wikipedia will tell you about anything you want to know about him, and link to even more stuff.

Now, when you grow up and start listening to truly great music, you might want to look into a guy named Mike Patton, he fronts several bands and every single one of them is amazing.

[EDIT] Oh yea, and his relationship with that cvnt, Courtney Love, is of little importance. It might give some insight to inspiration for some of his songs, but that's it. And what colors he dyed his hair is DEFINATELY irrelavent. That stuff might be interesting, but an artist's art is what's really important. [/EDIT]

you are 13? you need a new role model, i'm sorry. he killed himself....thats not something to be looked up to. life is a privlidge, there are some who die because of disease and war and awful things and they dont have the choice! he had everything and still took a cowards way out. if you love rock music try listening to some of the inventors. bob dylan, he had a message and he is still around! granted nivana was a huge influence on the way music is now but all they did was fuel a generation with anger and hate! if he was you role model because of his talent there are plenty others out there with more talent that arent ignorant!

move on... he was murdered by Courtney Love and Billy Corgan
notice that both Hole and Smashing Pumpkins got huge after his death..they stole is words...That is the reason Courtney is so crazy she cant deal with the guilt..and i feel Kurt was a brilliant mind..hes not a role model..heroin and death..hm mm doesn't sound like a great life...If you like music and poetry..do something productive with it..your 13 ?? how did you hear about Nirvana anyway???

He just whined
He couldn't sing
He couldn't play guitar
He made crappy pop music
His lyrics were terrible and most of them didn't make any sense ("Polly?" "Grandma Take Me Home?" "Rape Me?" Gimmie a break!)
And then he shot himself.
Far be it from me to take pleasure in anybody's death, but music as a whole is better off without him. He actually "lowered the bar" by making it OK to suck and still have a successful career. He proved that as long as youre depressing, teenagers will buy your music.
I know I'm the only person on the planet who has this opinion. Yes, I realize that. But I assure you that it is not uneducated. Like most 20-somethings in America, I have heard every Nirvana album 50 thousand times. Yes, even Bleach.

That's what I know about Kurt Cobain.

Okay you're kind of scaring me. Please tell me that you will not try to follow his life exactly as he did. He was a tremendous influence on the grunge scene. He was married to Courtney Love and they had one daughter Francis Bean. He could not get off of drugs they completely consumed his life. He killed himself to see if he could get rid of the demons that were haunting him in the form of drugs.

I will add my opinion here, even though others have waxed eloquent on Cobain......

Anybody that blows his brains out is not a role model - except perhaps to teach what not to do. The gift of life is not ours to return.

Want real role models? http://www.medalofhonor.com/ - now these guys were real men worthy of the highest praise we can offer.
