Okay here is my suggestion......Time alone if you have kids. Then set the house up with candles soft music and silk sheets on the bed. with a single rose on it. A few peddles leading to the bath room and rose peddles in the tub with candles surrounding it and champagne with two wine glasses on the side with a plate of fruit. Both of you take a bath together and things will get even nicer after wards. A man likes to be treated like that also. Not only women like to get pampered. Try it he'll love it.

Basically what I'm doing is that I'm giving him a memory box with some stuff I put together for him. I also made him a really nice card with a heartfelt poem that I wrote. I made him a poem book with pictures I have taken as well. : } I'm doing all this stuff because Valentine's is our first anniversary. ♥

Well, I found this great website that has a lot of ideas that people sent in. A lot of great ideas... cheap, creative, sweet. So if you need ideas, here ya go: http://scripts.lovingyou.com/mdb/search.cgi?mdb=ideas&cat=vday

It helped me come up with some ideas and stuff.

I recommend something that he can really enjoy over the year...a wine a month membership? That would be something he could look forward to every month and inevitably think of you each time a new bottle arrives. Besides, it is something meaningful you two can enjoy together. You could also give him a wine journal.

There are tons of clubs you can join...the one below is about $20-30 dollars a month plus shipping and tax.

Honestly my favorite presents from my wife have been outfits for her from victoria secret.... If you're not thinking in that vein, might go with a gift card from a store he likes.
