i had a strange idea. what if naruto IS the fourth hokage????!!!!
the fourth would have to seal his target inside him and destroy it, also
killing himself. but what if the fourth "re-created" himself? when jiraiya
and naruto went off to find tsunade (and to train naruto), naruto asked
why jiraiya took him and not someone else, jiraiya paused and told him: "because... you remind me of the fourth hokage."

with the tailed beasts being stronger than a human,
they could survive the demon sealing technique. what i mean by this question is that naruto could be
a mix between a reincarnation and the actual fourth hokage.

Maybe Jiraiya said "because... you remind me of the fourth hokage." because Naruto is (maybe) the fourth hokage's son...? It's possible that only Jiraiya or Kakashi or other adults know that Naruto is the fourth hokage's son but don't say anything... its just a guess....

Interesting but I don't think so. When the third fought Orochimaru, didn't he use the seal or technique invented by the fourth? That jutsu was using the Kage's body to absorb Orochimaru's body and the third clearly mentioned that using that technique would KILL him. It was the last resource. So if the fourth used it to control the nine-tails, he definitely died.
As far as Jiraiya is concerned, he paused because I believe Naruto is the son of the fourth. It must have been an emotional pause because he was trained by the fourth.

I still don't think so because to seal the demon, he had to use another body than his own because his would die. So, baby Naruto. Since he was already born, the fourth wouldn't be able to reincarnate into him. At most, he could have transfered his mind into his, but I find that farfetched.

He could. I mean it is possible. But Naruto is most likely the Fourth Hokage's son. I love the Naruto shows!

That's an interesting look at things, but the most popular answer to this question is that Naruto's father was the Hokage that sealed the nine tailed fox in Naruto.

hey, that's a cool theory, but I don't think that's what the makers intended to make us think. It would be so awkward too. The 4th hokage seemed pretty mature where Naruto so far is pretty immature. But a lot of people say that he ends up really mature after fillers.

No, they are two different people, I do think they are related though. The frog summon thing that Pervy Sennin or Jiriya or whatever his name is teaches Naruto is supposed to be a family blood trait, and in the very first episode of Naruto you will notice the ninja who is fighting the nine tailed fox(Yondaime aka 4th hokage) is using the frog summon. So which means that Jiriya, Naruto, and the 4th hokage are all somehow related. This is all just my opinion though, I just happened to notice it when i saw ep.1 again.

erm no,
Due to the circumstances and being the baby selected to put the Kyuubi into,
Naruto is most likely the Fourth Hokage's son (similarity lies with both their yellow hair), thus Naruto would remind Jiraiya of the Fourth Hokage

well..i think thet would be kinda funny,,Just think of what could happen to Konoha if Naruto brcame their Hokage?!haha!! Well he's the main character in the anime anyway..and he's dream is to become Hokage so maybe someday his dream might come true..hahahha!

interesting answers.... but i still think that naruto reminds jiraiya of yondaime because he has the same will and power (like summonning the frog--- his chakra from nine tails) like yondaime.
