actually we have 10 acres of land nice views and still don't know If we would stay. The baseball hall of fame in cooperstown is a nice tourist destination. I like it but my wife has reservations about leaving the city in Mass.

I used to live in a village called Broadalbin in Upstate. It is about 20 minutes from Johnstown, Amsterdam. It sure is beautiful up there; however, I would never move back there!
I was bored out of my mind (I grew up in a city of 100 000). I also hated the snow that sometimes would start in Nov lasting thru the beginning of Apr. Brrrr!

Upstate NY is full of hicks. I went to college in Saratoga Springs and lived in Albany for a while.

The middle part of the state is like living in the South.

I live in Rochester, NY which I guess can be called Western NY. It stinks based on my situation (married, but no kids). No jobs, crummy weather and little to do here. On the positive side, it's a great place to raise a family and offers cheap housing.
