Children of the Corn without a doubt in came out in '83 and had a awesome plot plus it was scary and It also made sense not a common scary movie theme these days...

The original Dracula starring Bela Lugosi..the blood and gore level was almost none compared to the movies of today, but your imagination could usually make the scenes worse than anything yu saw on the screeen

I don't think any scary movie is really that scary, but Pet cemetery was very touching because Steven King was in the movie and it was very shocking that a child was killed! That just took me by surprise.
