Why is Tyra Banks being called 'fat'?

Aside from about a half inch, I'm close in to her in height and her current weight (approx. 155-160lbs.) and have never been considered or called 'fat'. What's up with that??

because models are supposed to look a certain way tall and thin. now thats she filled out it looks "fat" to some people. so what, she gainded some pounds. shes human. she can. shes a retired model and from her own words shes always had some extra fat that had to be digitaly altered during her super model years. so when ur urse to seing somone 100lbs and all of a sudden their 120 omg their huge according to the media. she looks good to me and always has.

The world of celebrities is so very complicated, I must say. There have been really critical, current goings-on of and involving Ms. Banks. The real deal comes in right now. She's really hurt by all of the scrutiny and what people have been thinking about her. She's an ex-model and the point of being skinny doesn't come through to her anymore. She can now be happy with her natural curves and not fight the urge to starve. Tyra is around 160 lbs. and she's doing great. The photos of her titled "America's Next Top Waddle" have really hurt and discouraged Tyra. Those were also just taken from unflattering angles. She wants to come through as a good, positive role model to young girls, because she gets mail from them everyday and they say how admired she is, because of how she looks. And when people criticise her, she gets really disappointed. Tyra's tired of proving to everyone that models and celebrities have to look and act perfectly, because they don't, and she's just a regular person.

Tyra banks isn't fat. basically because of the fact she weighs over 12 kilos now, and she or he would not appear like countless the different cord skinny fashions is not any reason to be calling her fat. the factor is that she nonetheless looks greater desirable than all different fashions different than for Naomi Campbell. She loves how she looks and should no longer that matter the main of all?

yeah well its obviosly the mediawhats shes gained 30pounds? 160 is just fine when your that tall. If shes happy I think people should leave her alone. I respect her alot. Its because of the media. The medias cruel. I think any girl weighing over like 130 is considered fat, like they were calling beyonce fat the other day, like she has dancer legs, and she has one of the greatest bodys in holly wood. shes beautiful. But if Tyra was too skinny she'd get comments thrown at her aswell. 160 is not big, and I think its wonderful to have someone in the media whos a decent weight!

It's ridiculous, isn't it? And we wonder why elementary age girls are now being diagnosed with anorexia. She's "fat" because she doesn't look like she was in a concentration camp? There is still such a mixed message being sent to women by the media regarding weight and our daughters are now the victims. Real women have CURVES!!!! We should be proud of those curves too. We earned them.

Sorry to burst the "I love Tyra" bubble, but I think she looks nasty. Now I know not everyone is supposed to be super-thin (myself included), but Tyra's bone structure is obviously meant for a thin person. And if you look at her earlier pictures (even as a non-famous person) she IS thin. She's just eating poorly and is too lazy and self-indulgent to exercise. This is not a healthy weight gain, people! We shouldn't be encouraging people to diet to death, I know... But equally, should we be encouraging people to eat too much and not exercise (causing heart disease among other things)? I don't think so. Being chubby does NOT suit Tyra. She needs to lose some weight. That is all.
Those who worship overweight people to feel better about themselves can give me the thumbs down if they want. It doesn't change the truth...

I think she looks great. People think society or the modeling industry should dictate what looks good. I would rather look healthy, curvy and sexy than looking like I need to be working on a sandwich immediately

Because she IS fat.
You get more slack because you're just a normal person and you're not expected to be a twig. Tyra Banks was one of the top supermodels, so she's expected to look even MORE perfect than most celebrities. Bring on the "thumbs down" ratings people! :)
