i wouldn't buy an isuzu for anything. if the exhaust is leaking, you have to fix it. carbon monoxide could get into the passenger compartment and put you to sleep while driving if it doesn't kill you. you may be able to get a muffler aftermarket but most exhaust parts and most parts on the vehicle must b bought at a dealer. cheap to buy but expensive to fix. isuzu translated to engilish stands for bend over and grab your ankles.

I'm presuming by leak your talking about smoke escaping through a joint underneath the car. if so you can get repair tape and goo to wrap round which does "fix" the problem, but it never lasts long and, its not something you'll be happy doing every few months as fiddling under a car is never fun.
If its just leaking on a joint a garage will probably be able to reseal it for you for almost nothing, if however its leaking from a point in the piping or a box other then a joint it could mean you need that entire section replaced, which isnt always that expensive either..
As for it being driveable, apart from smoke and the car sounding slightly louder ( depending on where the leak is), you wouldnt notice any difference. although you would be minimally worsening the air around you.
If however the exhaust leak is coming from the engine bay it could be a costly job, as its new gaskets etc, and fiting anything inside the bay is time consuming.
And it would be dangerous to drive, as all your exhaust fumes would be coming into your cabin.. not only smelly but potentially fatal.
Think thats the longest answer ive ever written.....

Okay i am a diesel mechanic and an exhaust leak has many options. You can get the repair kit but we would be hard to do with out a shop if the leak is on the top of the exhaust. Or you could but a new exhaust system there are differnt kinds but your talking a few hundred dollars. Also a mechanic coulod try welding it if its small. You should be able to drive it unless its that bad. Could leak up thru the car where you can smell it so i wouldnt drive it for that long if its that bad. Any shop that does exhaust work i dont know where your from so i can name any. Hope that helps

If it's as good as you say then a small exhaust leak is an easy fix. Take it to a shop an get and estimate before you buy. That's no big thing. I have an Isuzu Hombre and it's been a good truck. if the owner is honest they won't mind you taking it in for a looking over. Might cost $100 or so but you'd feel better in the long run. Good luck and happy driving!!!!!!

Get the car and get it fixed. They can always be fixed.
Depending on where it is... If it is in the front, it may end up belching into the passenger compartment when you are at a stop. Or, like mine did, could point at a shock absorber and end up cooking it. Or it might be 100% harmless.
Those kits can sometimes work for a long time. I'd be shocked if it would run more than $150 for a small leak to be fixed right.

If all you say is true it is probably a good deal, I would still have a good mechanic look at it and make sure it is sound before you buy it. As far as the exhaust leak, they are relatively inexpensive to have fixed most can be fixed for between $25 and $100 ......Unless it is the Catalytic Converter which in most states can not be repaired it must be replaced and that can get pricey

just figure if it has a small leak you might as well replace the whole system and get it over with instead of having to go back every couple of weeks with a new leak, I really have no idea on that car how much it will cost to replace the system but you can figure $300 or more.

First off, did they tell you it did, and how big is it actually? If its caused by rust, than other things on the car might be rusty also. Keep that in mind.
With safety in mind, make sure that the leak will not find ist way in to the car, you won't smell it, but you could die.
Good Luck

no longer inevitably, if each little thing else exams out stable. discover out what it may fee to repair the leak earlier you purchase the vehicle. basically get the exhaust leak fixed first in case you elect to purchase the vehicle.

Depends on where in the exhaust system it is, if it's like just a crack in th exhaust pipe thn it's going to cost almost nothing like 40 to 50 bucks.
