Sometimes the names don't seem to fit when the kids are young, but for most of their lives they'll be adults, while childhood only lasts a few years. If it's a family name and not too weird, some day they'll be glad they have it, and maybe while they're a kid they can use a nickname. Names go in and out of fashion, and look at all the old-fashioned names that have come back recently - Hannah, Sarah, Emily, Samuel, etc. The ones I cant' stand are the ones that use goofy spellings to set them apart, when they're really the same old name. The other day I saw a "Naythin" for Nathan. Gimme a break!

My daughters name is Daisy and I've been told it's an old lady name, but I've known a couple really cool chicks with that name. As for Myrtle? That's awful!

Those old people used to be young. Its just that those names are not popular anymore. (These days.) The popular names of today will be "old" one day.

These names do not bother as much as today's "modern" names. lol I actually saw a business today named after its female owner. The name was Tafoya. Tofoya or Myrtle? Jesus C. Screwed either way I suppose.

I used to work at a call center, and this one guy there was named George. For some reason all the people he called hated on him because he was a young person named George! So he changed his caller name to Su, and he actually got a better response.

What's wrong with them? I have a Gertrude as a Grandmother, a Beulah, Louise and a Roberta for aunts. I kind of like them, they're as unique now as some of the other crazy names I hear every day!

I think it rocks.

I would pay good money to see cheerleaders named Myrtle, Hortense and Ethel.

Or an x rated actress named Beatrice.
