Killer whales are migratory. They go from Alaska to hawaii twice each year. Food is plentiful for them year-round at both locations, so nobody really knows why they make this trip twice each year.
They are as comfortable in frigid waters as the warm tropical waters.

I know they live in the Pacific Ocean but I'm not sure about the other oceans. They travel from the far north to down close to the equator and back. The whale watchers love to follow them.

The Orca or Killer Whale (Orcinus orca) is the largest species of the oceanic dolphin family (Delphinidae). It is found in all the world's oceans, from the frigid Arctic and Antarctic regions to warm, tropical seas. Orcas are highly social and generally travel in stable, matrilineal family groups.

Usually the pacific ocean ranging from the artic to the antartic. They can be in other places but it is rare. They are common particularly along the British Columbia coast as well as the northwestern United States, then again along the southern part of South American both sides as I understand it.
