When you go to school and major in a certain subject for four years, you know quite a bit about it, so you like to talk about it. When you've had a job for a considerable amount of time, it's the same thing. Well, there's nothing a person has been with longer than their own person, so that conversation goes really really well for them.

It's a good standby, especially in places like LA where the subject of weather is so drab as it never changes.

It's CERTAINLY BETTER than talking about others.
Personally, I talk about myself because I want others to know more about me and I think that's the case with many people. It's a way of opening up and helping people feel comfortable with who you are.

Some people do it because they are just plain arrogant.
BUT
For the most part I think we do it to help others get to know us

People are lonely by nature and want to share their experiences. If you think about it we're all just a bunch of brains floating at the top of fleshy robots. We need to share our experiences in order to feel less alone. Also if you talk about yourself you can't be wrong unless you're a total idiot! :)

it's called narstistic "everything revolves around you no one else matters" and they are just overly confident....that can be just as bad as people who have low self-esteem. Or they could just need attention there are many reasons why.
