Sounds like those shoes must really be lucky and must also be really important to you. Unfortunately for all of us, perception is reality.... and we are not always blessed to know what someone else's "reality" might be. Someone might think you were a poor dresser, needed glasses, had low self esteem, was disrespectful or was perhaps broke/homeless. It's not fair, but it is life. I imagine that the luck you have experienced in those shoe was due more to a special quality about you that brought good things into your life. I think you should keep your shoes in a very special place, perhaps on your dresser to remind you of how much you appreciate the experience(s) you had when you were wearing them. And then you should go out a buy yourself a new pair of shoes to present yourself as the best possible you so you CONTINUE to have good things come into your life.

Somebody might say to you, "Ummmmmm.............. did you put those shoes on this morning on purpose???"
Polite people, like myself, would naturally avert their eyes from your shoes and not mention them. Being as there are quite a lot of fools out there, though, you are more than likely to get the first comment than the second.
If somebody is really rude about your shoes, or, for that matter, any part of your clothing, simply ask them, "Were you born so rude and ignorant or do you have to practise??" That should shut them up!!!
PEACE & LOVE & ALL THAT

What I would say is
There is a guy called a shoemaker. Try to find one who is an old man, and he will be able to put new soles on your shoes, so you can keep your lucky shoes and you will get rid of the hole, and you won't have to worry about what other people say.
Old men are usually better craftsmen than young ones.

Keep your dignity. If they're very important and special to you keep that in the back of your head and don't worry about what people think too much. I can't see people discriminating against you because of shoes... Though it happens, you know why you have/ware them, and that's no ones business but yours.

I probably wouldn't say anything if I saw someone with holes in their shoes....it would be like looking at a person with blonde hair and saying "hey, your hair is blonde"

I would say the holes in your head need to be filled as it seems you have a insecurity problem and this is one manifestation. The other is reflected by displaying a anti social behaviour and using this method to show your distate for social norms.
