is it still a long distance call if i used my house phone to call a cell phone.. like a half hour away from my house?

The distance you are from the cell phone makes no difference at all. What is important is the HOME area of the cell phone.

As an example.
You are at home. Someone from out of state visits you. They have brought along a phone they picked up from their local cell phone shop. They are right outside your house and you call their cell from your home phone. It is a long distance call. Why? Because the cell phone HOME area is out of state.

Another example.
You are at home. Your friend picked up a cell phone before going on a trip out of state. You call that friend from your home phone. That is a LOCAL call. Why? Because the cell phone HOME area is the area that you are in!

it depends if the person you are calling is from your area..if they are from out of state then yes its long distance..but if they live in your same general area then most likely its not..even if they were travel 1000's of miles away it would still be a local call for you

its going to depend on where your home calling area is. if it is within that area than no, if it is not than it probably will be
