-if I get a my favs plan ($39 individual plan) and I call my friend, who has a verizon plan during the DAY, will that use up their day/anytime minutes?

or the [300min- $39 my favs] plan

Yes, it will use their minuets!
If you get the MyFavs plan you lose your moblie to mobile
If Alltel is in your area, go for the my circle plans, you get 10 numbers- better service (rated a top preformer by Consumer reports) and you get to keep your mobile to mobile- just some advice :)

If there in your my faves then its free, but my favs take away ur mobile to mobile mins.
