Why are there so many people who just cannot drive well?

As a Truck Driver myself, I can tell you what the majority of drivers do is out of pure disregard for the laws of the road.
A speeder is a good example, just let them see a patrol car and they immediately apply the brakes.
These foolish idiots are not fooling me. They know the rules of the highway as good as anyone.
It's become a society of "What can I get away with when Law Enforcement isn't looking".
It's the "Me 1st" in everything driving attitude.
If most drivers had to go through all the hassle and training of getting a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) they would have a little more respect for their driving privilege. Lose your CDL and away goes your job.
What people obviously forget is that driving is a PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT.
Get in or be involved in a major traffic accident then YOU WILL experience all the traffic laws and courts have to offer about being accountable to the driving public for your actions.
Then you will learn the meaning of quagmire.
Enough said. All readers get the picture. If any of you think that your driving exempts you from what I've said, go ahead, you'll find out the hard way.

uh let's see, cell phones, putting on makeup while driving, hey I saw a guy reading the paper, head bangin while driving, alcohol, inbreeding, they took driver's Ed 8 times and the school finally passed them just to be rid of them, drug use. showing off
Hey what about those ghost drivers? I got behind this car and I could not see the driver's head! Now ya know she couldnt see too far past the hood,(and I am not dissing short people, but let's face it, if you cant see past the hood then you are an endangerment on the road and a menace to other drivers It is scary. I live in a town where you are likely to get a ticket IF YOU DO use your turn signal.. a lot of weirdos behind the wheel... lets be careful out there because a hell of a lot dont have insurance.

some people think they are driving right but in all reality they are not. They are blind to there own wrong doings. Humans like to think that what they do will always be right. I just got my permit about 30 mins ago...i could have just got my drivers license but instead i chose a permit so i can gain the experience i need before i start driving bymyself. I know that having a permit will help me learn how to drive safely and make one less careless driver

Because the driving test is too easy and people think it is their "right" to drive and not a privilage.

Too many distractions, putting on make-up while talking on the phone, smoking a cigarette and drinking a cup of coffee. It's a sight that is seen very often.

I know. There seem to be only two types of driver on the road these days. The morons who are slower than me, and the idiots who are faster.
Why do we give them licences?

i dunno maybe u should take some driving lessons....its usually the ones who critisize others driving skills that really cant drive
