Living in LA we had a cold snap for a week. A while after that they started dropping leaves. Can they recover?

I have had ficus trees drop leaves too because I moved them from one type of environment to another which was different. So I think the cold snap you have had was a similar experience for them...sudden change, which they hate.
I think yours will recover in the spring as mine always have. I have had them both in pots and in the ground, they always recovered.

Ficus trees are very susceptible to even the slightest drop in temperature. If these are actually in-ground they may recover. If in pots, then no.

Most trees in nature are able to recover so there is a good chance yours will.

this is why ficus trees are so popular...they are incredibly adaptable to water needs and light...kind of like men...just give them a drink and they will be happy

They may make it. Don't prune off anything now. It could stress the trees more.
