First of all, use your ring finger. It is the weakest and this is very delicate skin. Try to lightly pat instead of rub, and move our finger towards the eye not away from it, b/c this pulls on the very delicate skin.

Hi! Here's the scoop...whenever you rub the skin under your eyes, either to apply a cream, cosmetic or just rubbing your eyes because they are tired or itch, you should not do so by running your finger from your nose outward, because the elastic nature of your skin makes it more likely to stretch out when rubbed in that direction, making wrinkles and bags under eyes more likely.

So, apply cream, rub etc. starting at the outer side of your eyes and rub towards the center at your nose.

Pat it gently from the outside of the eye towards your nose.

If you go the other way, you can stretch the skin.
