Single parent, head of household with 2 dependents (15 & 16),
collected $3000.00 in unemployment, 5 months they withheld taxes out of the checks, then they weren't withholding taxes the remainder of the checks.

Dear Single Parent,
I drew unemployment one year just recently for only 5 months though, I too had them deduct tax, but it wasn't enough and it reduced my return by a minimal amount.

It's income. So depending upon what income you had the rest of the year, you may owe some income tax but probably not enough to trigger any penalties.
