the reason i think he is better becasue i think power runners are better than runners that average in their position like LT but shaun can power the people that tackle him and he is a type of running back that is kind of fast but i admit that LT is faster. Another factor is that LT could not handle the fact that they lost to the patriots and he dosent really accept the loss and the fact that all the Patriots coppied the Shaun Merriman taunt

LT is the better RUNNING BACK. People need to stop refering (or atleast ONLY refering) to him as "the most complete" back. Before this season in the SD Union Tribune there was an article where he said he wants to win the running title atleast once (and viola, he did) because RBs pride themselves on ....RUNNING! and he wants to be the best runner, not just a "complete" guy. He is one of the most agile backs in the league and @221 is big enough to run decent between the tackles. Jim Brown said durring the KCvSD NBC game "you need to be strong and you need to be agile -- speed is just a luxery" (course LT's got a decent amount of that too, and a sweet *** stiff-arm to boot!)

LT is the best RB in the league, and one of the top recieving threats at RB (I'll admit Tiki and Westbrook might give him a run for his $$ there) and the best passing RB in the league. He's not the best blocking back, but he's no slouch (plus, people always try to find flaws --you can't be good at everything --I'd take a run/catch/pass-er of LT's level anyday over a "good blocker" --that's what the line and FBs are for)

*******Edit after reading question askers details
Shaun is 5'11" 225, LT is 5'10" 221......4 pounds and an inch does not make you a power runner. Shaun just has a different style of running than LT (plus LT is more agile so he can juke guys out rather than run into them, though he has enough bulk to do so (but knows it will wear him down and shorten his career).

And everyone needs to shut up about the Pats game! What the Pats did was classes - end of stor. LT is classier than you'll ever be

I do place alot of blame on the media for keeping on bringing it up (LT only talked about it so much because people kept asking!! and LT is polite and answers Qs when asked). You can tell they wanted the Chargers to look bad because NO ONE mentioned untill the Colts game that Brady actually said he felt he had to "throw missles" to gain 3-4 yards and that it was the hardest win of his career.

Definitely LT. Shaun had one good year. He will never be the same without Hutchinson. If LT had the line from Shaun's best year (05-06), he would have rushed for 3000 yards and 40 TD.

LT is the better back. Shaun is good but not the complete package that LT brings to the game. Why do you think Shaun is better?

Look what happened to SA as soon as he lost Steve Hutchinson : he became just an average RB. Shaun is great and all, but he's a product of a system, where they gave him a giant line and the ball 35+ times a game.

LT can do anything. His line, of course, has something to do with it, but he can create plays out in the flat w/o his linemen around. Probably the best since Walter P.

L.T. shaun is a good back, but sometimes can not hit the hole or find the hole. L.T. on the other hand finds and creates his own holes to go through. Both backs are very strong and fast, but pound for pound L.T. is the best. He is a complete back, where shaun is more of the runner and thats it.

Both are good players & each have been the NFL's MVP. Shaun Alexander, in my opinion, is a much more better player than Ladenian Tomlinson. I find it more difficult to consider L.T. a good player, because just a couple weeks back, he acted like a sore loser after the Chargers lost to the Patriots in the Divisional Playoffs.

So... where were you the last 4 months? Obviously were'nt watching the same NFL the rest of us were. One thing to be a homer (I'm a BIG homer) but thats crazy talk.

The nice lady is going to give you your medicine, take you to your padded room and you can watch some Tomlinson highlights from this season.

I lost a lot of respect for LT when he was griping about the Patriots after he lost to them...The Patriots are my team...but he is the best RB...Hard to argue with that...

You might be right on some aspects, but the numbers don't lie. I will tell you this, Shaun Alexander is better in the playoffs that is for sure.

Peace,
