I always thought non-gays WERE identifed by sex- we call them straight or bisexual, or even asexual- all identifications that have to do with sexual orientatoin.
You say 'but then way are gays identified soley on their sex life isnt that horrible to do to anyone' . . . in my opinion, when the labels of sexual orientation are used correctly, they are used to refer to one aspect of your life (the bedroom) and not anything else. It's wrong, I agree, to say that someone who is gay is basically the sum of their sexual desires- they are people with lives, families, friends, interests, hobbies, skills, talents, experiences, etc.. But gays must necessarily 'be identified solely on their sex life'- because that's what being gay is! To be homosexual, you have to have homosexual desires.
Personally, I don't see too much wrong with the way we use sexual orientation labels right now. The real problem is our absolute obsession with sex so that we can't imagine a gay person as anything but gay (as in, having sex with the same sex).
Hope that helps!

Because this is the only thing that differed them from other human being. If you are anybody without sex you are just a number but as soon as you have sex, talk about sex, show your sex and so on you are identifyed as a person that is either gay or hetero.

Wow, that is really profound. i'm hoping many human beings will make an attempt to verify it. i assume by technique of "Scientifically shown" you're pertaining to (a minimum of) the Kinsey report. Your citation from Farsi reflects a heritage in this usa which many do no longer recognize. till the overdue nineteenth century, "gay" become an action, no longer an identity. the concept of sexuality as an identity in user-friendly words began to strengthen contained in the overdue nineteenth century, and persisted coming up with the help of the first area of the 20 th century. I understand what you try to exhibit, and accept as true with you fullyyt, yet i ask your self if maximum human beings might want to be prepared to tell apart between "gay" and "gay."

Individuals identify themselves by what makes them different from the crowd. Heterosexuality is what 90% of people are - it is 'the crowd.' There's no point identifying yourself by that, because it's what people are going to assume (unless told otherwise) anyway.

Because we haven't gone around screaming publicly for 4 decades about how we're different, special, persecuted, etc., etc., because of our sexuality.
I'm not saying any of those things aren't true, but it in fact is gay people who have so identified themselves by what they do with their sex organs, not us.
I don't know the answer, but if you spend lots of time drawing attention to one particular thing about yourselves, you can't blame others for doing the same.

Because there is a presumption in society of heterosexuality. There for there is no need to identify by sexual orientation. Your presumed to be heterosexual. It's when your not heterosexual that they start with the sex labels.

Right or wrong heterosexuality is considered the "norm" and so those inidividuals are identified by some other trait than sexual orientation.
