Domestic discipline is not something that "should" be done. It is something that can be done in a loving relationship if both parties agree to it. The important thing here is that the person being held accountable has given consent to be disciplined for wrongdoing. It should never be made mandatory by either spouse. This would be abuse.
This is far from simply a Christian idea, though. I practice domestic discipline with my roommate. She is Christian, but I'm atheist. It's not about our religions, but about our relationship. She asked me to hold her accountable, and I discipline her when necessary. (She actually got a very stern spanking earlier tonight.)
As for those that answered that such treatment would be treating your wife/girlfriend like a child, it's not like that at all. While all the ladies that I've spanked in this manner have known that there were things in their life that they wanted to change, they didn't quite have the willpower to make those changes on their own. So, they sought out someone that could care about them and discipline them when they've done wrong. As such, the discipline was not childish, but quite needed and effective.

I don't know if couples "should" practice this, but it was a positive experience for me. My last boyfriend introduced this lifestyle to me. At first, I was resistent, but I decided to be open minded. I know that I am a better person because of domestic discipline. In fact, I am looking for a similar relationship right now.

Admit it already..domestic discipline is done solely for sexual purposes..you both get off to it.
I did extensive research on the issue for my Gender Roles course..and it is blatantly obvious that in such a scenario the male finds dominance exciting while the woman gets off to being submissive. To claim it is a Christian lifestyle instead of a sexual fantasy is a pseudo-justification, and I'm not buyin it. Have fun with that role playing.

No. The only discipline a Christian husband needs is self control.

oh really! Doesn't the Bible say you should obey the law of the land? That could be classified as abuse which is againts the law. Are you trying to stir up trouble here or what?

no... you are not disciplining your child. You should be able to talk to your wife and work out compromises and solve disagreements like adults. There's no reason why you should treat your wife as a child.

I shall ask Jesus, my Lord, if I should engage in this sort of Christian Domesticity with either my cyber husband, my cyber lover(s) or my real life, fornicating loving, living in sin boyfriend, sexy as hell, cutthroat lawyer, who is old enough to be my father (56), Albert.

Is your wife, 8 years old? Then no. Not unless you want to end up in jail.
