My computer's working just fine, but whenever i start up windows, it always says "your system has just recovered from a serious error." the system has no problems, gives me no error messages when booting or shutting down. How do I stop this message from coming up? Is there a registry key that i could edit to stop this message from coming up?

While I like "disposabl's" answer, you might try a reload of windows. Just reload it, that is all you need to do. No format of the hard drive or anything else, just run the install for windows again. The program might have "forgotten": something, or misplaced it as windows often does. Get a copy of "RegEdit" which will check your registry for errors and correct them.

This sounds like spyware, or another program running during your startup.

Scan your system for spyware/viruses (I use a combination of AVG free and AdAware, both free) and check your startup settings to see what programs are launching when you start your PC up. It's really just a nuisance, but this should solve your problem.

Best of luck!

Make sure you are turning off the computer properly. Sometimes just turning it of instead of closing everything out can cause that problem when you boot up agian. Hope this helps.
