Graduating college soon and I was just wondering what test you have to pass in order to be a part-time substitute teacher? What else is needed?

Depends on the state where you plan to teach.
Different states and different school boards have different requirements.

That is dependent upon the state certification. Often times, individual school districts within a state have their own qualifications and testing procedures. When I began subbing at the age of 20 in 1971, a college degree wasn't even required - but then the pay scale was only $15/day! Now a colege degree is required, professional development courses from the district in which you will sub, and the pay is still low - $85/day!

If you plan to teach in the State that you got your education in, then I would make the college your attending earn their money. Go to the career counselors office and let them hook you up. Most places require certification. Make sure before you graduate, you have all the required credits to get your teaching certification.

Take an additional class on discipline. They don't teach you what to expect in college.
