I think they're hideous and they make everyone's calves look fat. Do I have better taste than the vast majority or am I just missing their appeal?

It's backorded because people are mindless drones who see something on a celeberity and have to have it for themselves. Not that that's a bad think- I myslef just got a bottle of Chanel's Noir Ceramic nailpolish. But $18 spending, as opposed to $200, is reasonable.
I also think they make everyone's feet look HUGE.

they're minging. have you seriously ever seen anybody wearing them that actually managed to pull them off?!?! they were horrible when they were in "fashion" and now there's just a load of sad people who continue to wear them 2 years later. tut tut.
when was the last time you seen them in OK magazine? except the pages that just take the piss out of folk wearing them. lol

The thing about that is that fact that anyone could say that about any sort of fashion item. Someone could say that exact thing (of course, editing the 'calves looking fat' part) about certain hats (berets, newsboy caps, etc), glasses, pants, shirts, coats, etc.
In other words, I'm saying that everyone misses the appeal of certain items, so technically speaking, you are indeed missing the appeal. Most of the time I am too. Taste is relative/subjective.
As for my personal opinion, I'm still not sure. I never liked them, and then for some off-the-wall reason my grandmother bought me PURPLE ONES! I had no idea where to wear them besides in my own home, but I soon found out that they were extremely comfy and warm, so now I do occasionally venture out in public in them, but not often. They actually do make pretty good snow boots.
Right now, I'm really hating those Croc shoes. I find them much more detestable than anything else right now.

Yes they are butt-ugly. But I wonder where you live, because up here in the frozen wilds of NH, there is nothing that is more comfortable or warm. I think the appeal is that they are comfy and women feel like they are still looking stylish, even if the boots are hideous from a design point of view.

Uggs are definitely not ugly if you wear them the right way. But yes, I agree, they are pretty tricky to wear, you just have to be a bit smart when wearing them. Try wearing them tucked into denim fitted/skinny jeans, or try wearing them with a mini-skirt with/without tights. They'd look cute that way. And no, I don't think they make everyone's calves look fat, definitely not. Maybe you're just missing their appeal. Like I said, They can be pretty tricky to wear but if you're smart and know how to wear them, everybody'll be starring at your feet for all the right reasons.

i think they are just plain horrendous. Especially people in places like LA and Florida who were them when it is like 70 degrees outside with shorts or mini skirts. why wear wooly mammoth shoes when it is warm outside?
The only person I have ever seen look even somewhat decent in them was my surfer college boyfriend over 10 years ago the FIRST TIME they were popular. He wore them after he was done surfing in the cold pacific ocean and his feet were blue. usually his jeans were over the boots so you only saw the bottoms.
Beyond that they are big clunky ugly shoes. Well...they are more like slippers to me. I don't know that you have better taste than the vast majority, but I think you are correct in missing the appeal.

I love how they look with jean skirts but not so much pants just depends the style of them too i have seen some not so cute ones

theyre cute! i dont see how they make your calves look fat..so many people cannot be wrong about uggs being cute. if theyre so ugly then how come their chocolate color is backordered(with all of them) until august!

survey and you will recieve them. My sister got her uggs from that site and all she had to do was enter in her email address.
