I think he's smart.
Madrid clealy didn't favor him and the Americans were willing to pay $50 mill a year.
Gotta love America. The richest ever. Even the cheap MLS can pay a soccer player more than any team/country in the history of the sport. Man America is rich. They could take over soccer if they wanted to do so. Kiss all the good players in Europe goodbye, they'd be in America, if the Americans wanted them.
As is, soccer is the poor sport of the USA(still pays $50 mill a year to Beckham) and Americans don't care about the sport.

He is so close from Hollywood now that is not even funny. He already made a comercial for Disney next thing we'll see him in some movie....
I really can't believe he moved to the MLS I mean who watches the MLS? I know there may be a few people but i don't know, Becks is going really low, but like i say before, Hollywood is right around the corner, and for 250 millions who wouldn't move even if it would have been to Miami FC or some Mexican team...
If he ever comes to Miami to play for sure i'll go see him play, but i personally don't think he's gonna do something for soccer here in the US.

As a soccer fan an American, I think that they want David to be a selling point to people who have not enjoyed soccer. He is a great player, there fore people will want to see him play. Around here soccer is a big thing, kids start about 5 practicing for the mini league. It will take more than that to start a fan base. the urban areas are still basketball and football american style

It's probably a bit of both, when it comes it. He will help them a lot with his great talent and he will put people in seats. he will also sell them a lot of merchandise. A lot of great players come to America when they are " washed up", but David is coming while he is still a great talent. He has said he liked the fact that he could be private in Spain, well he won't have that in LA.

He went so he'll be a "big fish in a small pond"
and he didn't have much playing time on Real Madrid
and to do what Pelé did for the NASL
But the main reason he join is for the money

i actually think it's because of his wife. Victoria wants to be next to her new confidante, Katie Holmes. i'm guessin they want to go mindlessly shoppin and once they're finished, they'll go drink sheep's blood with the rest of the Scientology cult celebrities.
