Ah, yes, another question that has no validity in the real world. Let's see here..... where to start, where to start... We're talking alligators and tigers here, right? OK, even though they'll never meet.......

Alright, let's talk sizes, because that's the biggest issue. I'm assuming we're talking full grown tiger? Average adult size? what's that...... wikipedia says between 440 and 700 lbs... let's go with 500... and a length of.....8 foot 6 to 10 foot 8.... let's go 9 and a half. So now we've got a nine and a half foot, 500 lb tiger, do we want to match him in length or weight with the gator? Length? Here goes....

9 foot gator -MIGHT- weigh 400 lbs... -MIGHT- Tiger's got him outsized, if it can get claws into the underside (remember, alligators aren't armored underneath, people.) he's got a chance as long as we're not in water. Even a "Big" gator isn't that big, I know, I know, there's e-mails about 21 foot alligators... blah blah blah, NO SUCH THING AS A GATOR THAT BIG. Tigers have big teeth, if one were lucky enough to plant a good bite into one of the soft vulnerable parts of a gator, I wouldn't see it having too much of a problem. I know everyone wants to go with the alligator, but really, I think the tiger has a chance...

First off, this is impossible, as they live two completely different continents, and will never meet in real life. If they did meet, i would say the tiger would win. On land, the tiger clearly has the advantage- alot faster, more agile. The aligator is practically helpless. Despite crocs and alligators having the strongest bite force of all animals, on land, the alligator is just too slow. (Tigers too have a very powerful bite along with powerful paws with claws...)A tiger would just go around the alligator and attack it from behind. The alligator wont be able to turn around fast enough. Plus, crocs and alligators build up lactic acid very fast, and can't spend more than a few minutes being very active. In the water, the alligator has the upper hand, but not as much as the tiger did on land. Tigers love water and are excellent swimmers. If the water isnt very deep, a tiger could still have a chance of attacking the alligator. Finally, the time of day the fight takes place also gives an advantage to the tiger. A tiger is active almost the whole day, whereas an alligator, depending on the time of day, may not be as active, and be slow- alligators are cold blooded, so they occasionally need to sun themselves to get their energy. Bottom line: Tiger =)

Yes their is one video of a tiger killing the less known, smaller, less aggressive Mugger Crocodile. An average size male Saltwater Crocodile, which is 15-16 feet and over 1500-2000 pounds will kill the tiger in the water and on the land and in the water for sure! Salties are aggressive and could death roll and have tougher skin than the alligator. The alligator will have trouble killing or injuring the tiger on land. The alligator will still most likely win, but a 500 pound tiger can kill a 500 pound alligator!

If an alligator was smarter than a tiger and both animals were underwater but the alligator could swim and the tiger couldn't then the alligator would win. But, if a tiger was smarter and he brought the alligator out of the water and the tiger scratched the alligator then the tiger's nails would break because of the rough skin that the alligator has, the tiger would give up by running(or maybe the alligator would kill him first or kill him while running), and then the alligator would win. But one thing, the alligator would always win.

This is a very brain opening question. The alligator has vey sharp teeth,so that is a very good use for bitting off an important part of the tiger.yet,so does the tiger.but bitting the alligator wouldent do much good because its skin is too rough to rip anything off.the alligator has a very long tail fo defense and the tiger has claws for defense.however,im gonna go with the alligator.but,if it was a cheetah and a tiger, that would be a different story....uh....what was the question agien??

On water or on land?
Each has their strengths.
I would say the alligator because of the tough skin.
