Ok, so I'm a serious cuber (don't laugh). No matter what I do, the stickers keep fading (it is nearly impossible to distinguish the white from the yellow). One of my friends has an older cube that actually has colored plastic instead of stickers. Anyone know where I can find one like that? Already checked amazon and ebay.

I just found out that the ones with the colored plastic were called magic cubes, the name Rubik gave the toy. It wasn't untill later that it became known by his name.

I don't know about colored plastic, but if you need replacement stickers for your Rubik's Cube, try the ones at http://www.cubesmith.com . They're not the same as the bad stickers that come with the Rubik's Cube. They work really well and do not fade or peel off. I had put on stickers I got from that website over a year ago and they are still in very good condition.

I remember getting an original Rubik's cube back in the early 80's. It had stickers too. Maybe one of the many knockoffs had colored plastic.
