I've always wondered about braille myself. Do blind people have brailledar or something? I know they can read it but how do they know where it is. Is it like a glass windshield coffee table that you just have to "sense" that it's there? That's sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

If you really don't know, I will try to give you a logical reason.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
That is the reason. If you make two items that are identical except for braille key pads on one you are not coming off as the sharpest tool in the shed. Just go ahead and make both items identical and save all the special tooling costs to make the separate one. It also reduces inventory cost for repair folks who only need to carry one key pad not two.
Auto manufacturers do it all the time. We even have standard sized nuts and bolts. If you decided to manufacture a new firearm would you use existing ammunition or develop a whole new caliber. Look at your computer and how things are interchangeable on it.
It is just not cost effective sometimes to make two devices with such a small difference between them.
Does that help???

Well, you don't need to be the driver to use the ATM at a drive through, blind people use the ATM too, but they don't operate it from the driver's seat. Pretty logical

Lol that's a good one. We don't really have drive-through ATMs here so didn't think of that in a while but I do recall there was when I was in LA... how strange is that? Maybe you can also "walk-through"? :-)

i wonder if deaf people use the drive thru sometimes...
