If you don't, it eats at you it will always be there just under the surface. It can make you sick and detour you from getting on with your life. It is baggage you don't need. Remember just because you forgive someone it does not mean you condon what ever it was they did to incure your anger. It means you are not going to let their offense bog you down anymore. Besides, if you get stuck in an unforgiving mode you may miss some of the best life has to offer! Forgive, and let it go!

IMO it isnt important really.. I'm not in the forgivness biz.. In fact I think if you forgive too easily it teaches a bad lesson (that its OK to do this to me)
Honest mistakes.. OK I can forgive.. maybe.. But a mistake is a once only dealy.. twice or more is a pattern...
Honestly? its never ever bothered me in not forgiving someone.. 1 they always new better going in 2 they clearly knew i wasnt in the forgivness business & 3 I'm just glad to be rid of them hopefuly forever..
The christ is in the forgivness biz.. not me... and i dont even hav a close to guilty feeling about it

You need to give to get, so yu need to forgive to forget! By not forgiving, you maintain a resentment in your mind, which connects you karmically to the other and saps your energy. And you need to replay the action-reaction cycle or karmic drama, this time with the roles reversed, i.e you are the avenger and the other person, the victim! And then the pendulum swings again and again. This karmic cycle stops and your spiritual development goes to the next level only when you cut the karmic bonds by forgiving the other person/s and urself too!

Where did you get this philosophy, It is of the utmost importance to forgive, Jesus Christ forgives us our sins, and we must forgive others also, if we hold resentment , we can not expect forgiveness in turn, no one said forget, just forgive and realize there is always a much higher power at work in you in God.

Forgiveness is not for the person who wronged you. It is for yourself. When you forgive someone, you are letting go of the anger, resentment, and uncharitable thoughts you have for them. This cleanses your heart. If you hold on to those feelings, they eventually affect other aspects of your life, and your personality. When you tell someone you have forgiven them, it allows them to also let go of the guilt, shame, and embarassment of having offended you, especially if they have asked for forgiveness.

if you're always carrying some baggage of hate and things people did wrong to you you're going to die early.
Seriously, it's not good for your health to hold grudges.
I think some things are not forgivable but most things are...
you should forgive but never forget. that's what I believe!
