57 what tall? cm, inches, hands? Just how bleedin' tall are you? Are you some sort of freaky giant? Oh God I'm going to be awake all night worrying about this. Thank you very much.

Last summer I saw some really nice cream summer dresses (evening/ballgown style) by Coast (concession on Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis etc). They looked really classy and would be something a bit different to wear. PErsonally, I would have a look at Monsoon and M&S as previously mentioned as well.

Have you tried Monsoon? They have wedding dresses off the peg, more like an evening dress but very nice. I think they are about £200, cheap for a wedding dress!!
Otherwise check out you local department stores for evening dresses - who says it has to be white?!? I almost opted for a gold knee length number, but was persuaded by mum that I ought to do the traditional long white dress.

the sales are on at the moment, you should be able to get something for a reasonable price if you shop at this time of year.Somewhere like Debenhams would be a good place to look, you should be able to get a nice outfit from one of their designer ranges, maybe a silk knee length dress and matching coat.
