My texas driver licenxe expired one month ago..Can I renew it now online or through phone? Once licence is expired, do I have to retake the road test to get it again? Is there any grace period? It only expired one month ago..so I am hoping I will be able to renew it without retesting..Please help with answers..Thanks!

No, you won't have to retest. You are driving illegally though.

If you were in California years ago you have a grace period but I don't recall if it was several years where all you had to do was retake the written exams and not the driving test. I let my license go over two years because I figured I would not be going back to driving professionally. I was misinformed by the clerk who told me after I had applied that I still had time to obtain my tx license but since I had already been input into the DMV computer I needed to go through the whole process of the written, and driver part of the test to obtain my tx rating again. Now it is different and you need to check soon because a professional license is a valuable asset and and ace up your sleeve should you need it.

i know that if you are over the age of 21 you should be able to renew it on line. I'm not sure the web site , but you can call the DPS office and get it. if you are a minor the only test you may have to take again is the vision test. No you will not have to retake the road test. Yes there is a grace period but for only like a week.

You may want to keep in mind that banks and other places won't accept your expired drivers license. So you may want to renew it so you won't run into that problem.
