The University of Chicago is my dream school in every way. Even if I miraculously get into every college but U of C, I would be devastated. Nevertheless, does fun really die there? I applied because of the intellectual atmosphere, but is it hardcore academically in a good or bad way?

I think you'll find a better quality answer to your question if you visit the school and talk to current students. Only they would really know the answer to your question.

You will live in CHICAGO. If you can't have fun in Chicago, you've got bigger problems than thinking University of Chicago is worth paying all that money for.
