Mercury Comes from An ore called Cinnabar, It is a reddish rock, and it is basically Mercury Sulphide. Mercury the liquid metal is obtaining by "roasting" the ore in a kiln, and condesing the vapours given off. This gives you the liquid metal that is usually packaged in 76 lb Flasks

It is flown by NASA to earth, from the planet Mercury. They have satellite droids that relay the contents back to a series of robots who get this substance back to earth in a stable form (usually a liquid, it is gaseous by nature).

It's actually hard to believe NASA doesn't inform the public more about what a success this program has become.
