I have been TTC for over 2 years with no luck. My OBGYN put me on clomid without monthly monitoring and I am now on month 4. She said to stick with it for 6 months then go see an RE but I really would like to do more testing besides just blood work. DH's SA came back fine. I haven't had an HSG test or anything like that. I don't know if I am just anxious or should I be patient and listen to my doctor? She said that if this doesn't work in 6 months then she will refer me to a RE.

Go see a fertility specialist right away. I changed Dr's 5 times until I found one that I loved and trusted and got my twins on the first try with pergonal and IUI. Alot of them claim to be fertility Dr's but unless they do it all including monitoring etc... they are not. Clomid didn't work for me and the side effects drove me crazy. Good luck and don't give up you will get your baby or babies some day.

I would ask to have the HSG test done. The OBGYN should be able to do that for you. I've been TTC for over 2 years now and am still seeing a regular OBGYN. The previouse OBGYN I was seeing also suggested trying the clomid for 6 months before he would refer me to an RE so I think that's pretty much normal. I'm going to have the HSG test done in a couple weeks. I'd say stick with the OBGYN until you've had the HSG done and tried the clomid for 6 months.

Generally if you've been trying for a year without getting pregnant, you should see an RE. An OBGYN doesn't have the same expertise that an RE does, and an RE will do lots more tests before just telling you to go on Clomid. There may be something else wrong entirely that Clomid won't help. I suggest you contact an RE right away and not wait 6 months. Good luck!

It is a waste of time to see an OB for infertility, and you should not be on Clomid without being monitored. You should be able to see an RE after 12 months of TTC with no luck if you are under 35 or 6 months if you are over 35. Is there any other way for you to get a referral? You shouldn't have to wait any longer.
