Does it matter? East or West they are TEAMS that are supposed to be the BEST PLAYERS. They aren't Franchises. It is a one game thing. The Penguins won in a shootout last night beating the Stars. Does that mean the East is better? Does that mean the Penguins could beat the Stars for the Stanley Cup? The answer to both is NO.

No. The All-star game was more of a gentlemen's game. No hard checking, boarding, or overt physical play. The last major penalty to be called was in the 2000 All-Star game. As some one pointed out in another answer (on 1/25 I believe), no one was even playing defense!

We can always find out who the best team is via the Cup run, but the best conference? Hard to say. The conferences will never play a flat out, no holds barred game. Can't risk losing their good players for the regular season.

I was glad to see the West win the game because my favorite team is in the West. the East has a lot of excellent teams with a lot of points and most of the current season records for goals, assist ect...are from members of the East. However, right now the best overall team in the NHL, Nashville, is in the West. I think both confrences have a lot to offer and this years finals will be a good one.

The east is the far better conference overall, but there are 4 or 4 very good teams in the west.

No, they just won what is basically a fan's event. The East is stacked with good teams, and the West has a 2 teams I think are for real, Nashville may have the best record, but they play in a very weak division.

I honestly don't think that the All-Star game is to show which conference is better. It's a great way to recognize the great players across the league.

As someone already stated, there isn't the chemistry between team members for one thing, and a goalie who plays for one period doesn't really get to show all his stuff. It isn't played (position and strategy wise) like a regular NHL game. There's a ton more passing than normal. The veteran players actually try and make it a great experience for the rookies; letting them score rather than taking it in themselves.

It isn't meant to be a battle of the conferences in my opinion. Just a time for the NHL and it's fans to get together for some fun :)

I wouldn't make any statements based on the outcome of the NHL all-star game. Like another post mentioned, it's a game where nobody plays defense and no players really give much of an effort.

Like the rest said above me the All-star game means nothing. Players dont play like they do in real games.
Im a West fan.

They are best at shinny hockey as that was all that game was. I has been a while since the West won a cup.
