Well if its automated you would probably have it read out at your computer terminal in an office, den, or bedroom. The instruments would include an anemometer, a rain gage, a thermometer, and a barometer. There should be a shelter for the thermometer and barometer approximately 5 or 6 feet above the ground, painted white, and shuttered to allow the free flow of air through it. It will have a door with a latch. The rain gage should be well out of the shadow of any nearby trees so that they will not prevent precipitation from reaching the gage. The anemometer can be placed above the instrument shelter to obtain a more representative surface wind observation.
