Hello. I think you must be referring to the red cape used during bullfights. The cartoon portrayals of bulls attracted to red is inaccurate. It is widely thought that bulls do not distinguish color. Like the previous person said, it is the motion of the cape that attracts them. Actually to be more accurate... when a bull is put into a bull fight ring it has these little flags driven into its sides by the bull fighter while the bull is being distracted by someone else in the ring. That is really painful for the bull who is now bleeding and confused. Then it sees the bull fighter waving the cape and charges. I think we might all do the same in similar conditions. Bull fighting is cruel and crude.

Bulls are colour blind. It is not the colour red waved at them that gets them going, it is anything that is waved in front of them that attracts their attention. The bulls you see in bullrings are very young bulls who have been goaded before they are put in the bullring. This is why they are easily agitated enough to charge at anything that moves. The bulls in the farmers fields are as harmless as cows. You could wave a green rag at an agitated bull and it will try to charge. Colours make no difference to bulls.

Most animals have limited colour vision compared to ours, the colours are muted and sludgey. Bulls can't really see red.
They react to threats by charging. And when they are in a state of arousal - thats what its called - like when they're angry, their eyes turn red because they pump more blood around as their blood pressure goes up. (Its like when turkey stags get aroused their faces go red, when blokes get angry so do theirs.) Bull elephants get red eyes in the must as well and I think thats how the saying 'sees red' got started because its very noticeable.

The bull is trained to charge at the red drape. I believe the red is for our benefit. Not the bulls.

Bull's are colour blind it's the movement of the cape that irritates them and makes them charge.

Bulls do not charge at red things, if they did, I would be dead. I have a herd of cows and I wear a red coat.

It's not the color, it's the fact that some guy in spandex leggings is pissing him off waving the damn thing infront of him.
