If your cousin was obviously upset (you didn't know it at the time, but she was having an axiety attack). She was upset for over an hour and suddendly up at left a Christmas dinner and took her kids with her. Would you get mad at here for taking her kids away from a Christmas dinner and leaving the relatives who worked so hard to prepare a meal, or would you ask her what the heck is bugging her... and if she is alright?

I would ask if everything was OK and if not then try and talk to her about it. I wouldn't get upset right away there is always a reason for everything.

If that was unusual behavior for her I would approach her with concern and understanding, trying to be empathetic.

However, if this is a normal thing, and it really bothered me, I would decide what's more important: My relationship with her, or the amount of discomfort it causes me.

I would assume something was wrong, but try to find out what and offer help or a shoulder to lean on. I wouldn't be mad, more curious.

Well I think anyone would get mad at her initially. But after you understand why she was upset you need to reevaluate your anger.
