The Prince of Wales received a wedding ring at his wedding with Camilla Parker Bowles. Royal wedding rings are made of gold from the Clogau St David's mine in Bontddu, North Wales. As there is very little gold left there, I would have thought that they would try to dissuade royal males from using up the supply in this way!

Male royals may or may not wear wedding rings -- that depends on whether they choose a double ring ceremony. BUT -- if that male royal becomes a king, the wedding ring comes off. Part of the coronation ceremony involves placing a ring on the third finger, left hand, to symbolize union with the people.

I think that Prince Charles wears one, and I think that Lord Snowdon used to wear one when he was married to Princess Margaret. Obviously though it remains a matter of personal choice.
