To copy an object, then copy that copy and place it next to the original. Doing it again will just make another copy of the copy of the original.
If you meant cut and paste, it is a phrase for doing arts and crafts or putting together a poster.

Find what you want to copy onto a document (you won't have to print, scan, crop, and modify). Then highlight it with your mouse by clicking (left- clicking, as usual) and holding while you drag it across the text or picture, or whatever. Then get your blank document ready, microsoft word or whatever, and right click over the highlighted area. Then right- click and you'll have an option to 'copy'. Select this option, and then return to your blank document. Right click over the place where you want the picture/text that you just copied, and select the option to 'paste'.
Copy and paste is a feature that allows you to quite literally copy and paste text/pictures/files/links from one document to another.
You can even take info from the internet and 'copy' it onto your document.
