Hi, I'm 35 weeks pregnant and when i went to my last visit my dr said i was 50% effaced and a little over a centimeter dilated, does this mean im any closer to having my baby or could i still go full term?

I was 100% effaced and dilated to 1, at 36 weeks. I was dilated to 2 at 37 weeks. I didn't have my daughter until 38 weeks. It's a good sign that your body is preparing, but you could go full term, and you should hope that you do as well as it's safer for the baby.

you could still go full term. I was 75% effaced and 2cm dilated for 3 wks before i actually went into labor.

You can definitely still go full-term, though having an open cervix means you have been doing some contracting somewhere along the way (or that this is not your first pregnancy). Either way, it's a good place to start, but you have a ways to go yet. It IS encouraging, though!

It's just your body getting ready to go. I was dialated, effaced and had lost my mucus plug and still lasted another week. Good luck.

This means that your body is preparing for delivery. It could still be another week or 2 or it could happen soon. Just pay attention to if you have any leakage(as in your water breaking) or if you feel your belly tightening. Just pay closer attention to your body and you should be fine.
